Is it true that birds and electrical energy are mutually exclusive?

The other day in physics class, my teacher was discussing the pros and cons of electrical energy, and arrived at the conclusion that the largest flaw was that electrical energy would eventually result in the death of all air born life, I just want a second opinion.
